The USGIF Outreach Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Awards Program. Awards are presented for outstanding academic studies, research and development, and achievement in the military, government, and industry sectors. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, August 14.

The Outreach Committee is the Foundation's arm that is responsible for delivering the Foundation's message to our public and private partners as well as reaching out to the policy and decision makers to ensure the Foundation is best supporting the community and tradecraft. The committee executes its actions through the following subcommittee structure:
- Awards Subcommittee: Three awards programs fall under the Awards Subcommittee to recognize outstanding achievements and innovations made within the geospatial intelligence tradecraft. The Geospatial Intelligence Achievement Awards and Geospatial Academic Achievement Awards are presented to those nominated by the community and selected by the Awards Subcommittee.
