Jeff Tarr is the President and CEO of DigitalGlobe, the industry-leading provider of Earth imagery and information about our changing planet, and trusted partner to both governments and commercial customers.

Since Mr. Tarr assumed his position in August 2011, DigitalGlobe has grown from $300 million to more than $700 million in annual revenue, and strengthened the company’s commitment to its purpose of Seeing a Better World™. DigitalGlobe’s unclassified and shareable imagery now serves hundreds of thousands of end-users across the U.S. government and its allies charged with the safety and security of nations, and enables the maps and geospatial applications relied on by billions of consumers. Under Mr. Tarr’s leadership, DigitalGlobe has also expanded into geospatial analytics with its Geospatial Big Data Platform, which enables customers to run hundreds of applications on DigitalGlobe’s 15-plus-year time-lapse imagery library, revealing new insights.

During Mr. Tarr’s career he has held leadership positions at some of the world’s leading information businesses. Prior to DigitalGlobe, he was President and COO of IHS, the publicly traded parent of Jane’s Information Group and other industry leading open source information products. He also served as Chairman and CEO of Hoover’s, another publicly traded information company, and as a division president at Dun & Bradstreet.

Mr. Tarr began his career with Bain & Company. He holds an undergraduate degree in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and an MBA from Stanford University. He serves on the board of directors of CEB (NYSE: CEB) and on the management board of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
