About USGIF Young Professionals Group (YPG)

Young professionals represent a typically underrepresented group of members within USGIF. As our community continues to grow, it is important to increase the involvement of the youth as they will become the future leaders of our industry, government and academic representative groups.

Developed in 2009, the USGIF Young Professionals Group (YPG) serves to unite junior GEOINT professionals within the Defense and Intelligence communities. This group offers events and programs that parallel the Foundation’s mission of advancing the geospatial intelligence tradecraft by utilizing the unique dynamics of our young professional membership based off of their needs and wants from this group.

The Young Professionals Group also holds two positions on the USGIF Board of Directors, which are currently being held by Mr. Alex Martinez, Staff Engineer, Lockheed Martin and Mr. Eric Zitz, Booz Allen Hamilton. Both seats serve for a two year term and are voting members representing GEOINT Young Professionals. Mr. Martinez is fulfilling one of the seats and will continue to do so until next year.

To be added to our YPG distribution list for information on upcoming events and programs, or to send us your ideas, please contact YPG@usgif.org.
