The USGIF Workshop Series brings you the Emerging Technologies Luncheon featuring Ms. Vonna Weir Heaton, Director, InnoVision Directorate, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
Sponsored by IBM and the USGIF Emerging Technologies Subcommittee, this workshop takes place on March 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, Va. The workshop features a presentation by Ms. Heaton and a Q&A session, and it concludes with a lunch.
Ms. Heaton will be speaking on the future of GEOINT R&D investment. Investment is driven by several key factors, including today’s predominant S&T focus on near-term tools to support warfighters; the need for longer-term R&D on the right technologies to enable path-breaking GEOINT advances; and a comprehensive community strategy that will facilitate the GEOINT solutions of tomorrow. Industry’s lessons learned can help InnoVision better anticipate and plan for the future. This, in turn, enhances NGA’s partnership with the commercial sector to more effectively meet the nation’s geospatial intelligence needs.
