Description:
Provide data management support services that will include:
• Produce the branch’s weekly shapefiles, including organizing significant data input from various reporting sources
• Manage branch data by updating the Enterprise shapefiles (daily/weekly), managing data structure, and the branch inbox
• Standardize and facilitate TIR automation process, ISR data base automation and PPT extraction tools
• Serve as technical experts in ESRI ArcGis 9.1/9.2 and assist office personnel in creating new tools for ArcGIS projects.
• Provide and share expertise on GIS/database architecture. Exchange ideas and information with customers, co-workers and managers to enhance job knowledge.
• Assist in incorporating branch data flow into the future PT database
• Identify emerging technologies/software and representing the branch at technology meetings.
• Spearhead efforts to get IEC baseline exceptions.
• Data mining (searching for data sets that would help perform the mission)
• Be familiar with digital imagery and digital imagery processes.
Job Qualifications:
The Systems Engineer will need to have strong skills/experience in the following areas:
• 5-7 years experience in systems engineering
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Access – up to date on latest versions of MS Office suite to include both Access and Excel.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel – Excel may be utilized in some areas where a DBMS is not warranted.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work productively under pressure.
• Ability to understand the data needs of users and build, monitor, and modify financial, personnel, and suspense data and produce reports for senior level managers that are easily understood.
• A thorough knowledge of and proficiency in standard business application software for presentations, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Meet schedules and time frames consistently.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Experience leading developing and maintenance of data and/or data applications.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining moderately complex databases.
• TS/SCI with Poly required
• BA/BS degree required
