The Space & Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit currently has an opening for an Application Modeling Engineer in Bethesda, MD.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position includes conducting modeling and simulation on various customer applications, entities, segments, and systems. It requires working with the customer in the collection, synthesis, analysis of performance, capacity and related data to determine design, trends, and system performance across the network. The work consists of developing and running computer models based on OPNET and other tools, analyzing the system characteristics for performance, design options, operations optimization, and service level agreements. Requires coordination across the customer enterprise regarding testing, prototypes, interfaces, data flow, testing, and programmatics. In addition, project reports, impacts, databases, and various analytics will be used to define, predict, and recommend alternatives and solutions. Involves preparing, presenting, and defending analyses, alternatives, and recommendations to customer officials and decision forums. Position located in Bethesda, MD.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
An active TS/SCI clearance is required to begin work for this position. Information Assurance certification (SSCP or better) is required within 6 months of starting work. Requires 7 years of relevant experience in computer systems, requirements, or application modeling. Experience with Visual Basic and scripting languages such as Python and Perl. Understanding of network infrastructure components such as routers and switches. Familiar with systems engineering lifecycle including performance analysis disciplines. Proficient in oral and written communication. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience using approved modeling and reporting tools such as OPNET and SAS. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to work closely in a team environment with contractor and customer colleagues. Experience with classified networks is a plus. Current Information Assurance certification highly desired
