Description:

The Space and Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit has an opening for a Persistent Surveillance (PS) Subject Matter Expert/Trainer to develop, maintain, and deliver introductory through advanced Motion Imagery (MI) exploitation training.

A Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Instructor is a team member with specialized skills and knowledge in a designated field or discipline. The SME/Instructor supports assessments of the organization’s challenges using this specialized expertise; contributes to the execution of a project or task plan; and helps assess the impact of industry trends, policy or standard methodologies. Activities are conducted in support of the project team’s objectives. The SME/Instructor works closely with senior specialists or task leads.

SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:
Provide support to the responsible Government Point of Contact (GPOC) in defining and delivering the specified academic program that provides the full spectrum of training and education necessary to meet NSG requirements, from primer courses to advanced education.
Engage with stakeholders and community of experts as necessary through participation in sensor system and/or product development/improvement working groups, attendance at community, academic, and industry technical symposiums, and support to concept of operations development in order to maintain currency in the extended research and development being conducted in areas of interest to the Geospatial-Intelligence school, to allow a proactive stance regarding the integration of new capabilities and to support requirements definition and assure relevancy of instructional materials.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the development and maintenance of courses within the supported academic program related courses as requested by the government.
Provide course instruction as well as mentoring and training and qualifying instructors for courses within the specified academic program.
Provide SME support to tool developers, directing the development path of new image exploitation techniques, processing workflow, and reporting methodologies.
Support efforts to assess the quality and utility of current/emerging imaging technologies, and new processing tools/methodologies, with a focus on system capabilities, overall system performance, and unwanted anomaly introduction.
Coordinate and provide capabilities demonstrations, training courses, and hands-on mission-specific assistance to applicable elements of the military, and the Intelligence Community in order to facilitate the insertion of current/emerging sensor technologies and data exploitation capabilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND qualifications
Must currently possess an active TS/SCI. Bachelor’s degree and min of 6 years of combined NTM/Airborne Imagery, Motion Imagery (including Full Motion Video (FMV), or Wide Area Surveillance (WAS) exploitation experience and adult learning facilitator. Adult learning exp can be waived in lieu of successful completion of military, educational, or commercial certified program equivalent to 40-hr NGA College Instructor Training Course (ITC.)

Hands-on experience with IEC/NES Workstations, RemoteView, and Arc-GIS. Experience with MS Office and associated software tools, e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access, Explorer/Netscape/HTML is required. Excellent writing and briefing skills including good command of grammar and business communications before groups or one-on-one situations, and having the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely. Experience working in the SCI environment. An understanding of Instructional Systems Design (ISD). Working knowledge of development of learning objectives; methodologies of lecture, demonstration, and practical exercise; adult learning theory, and use of training aids.

Desired skills:
Experience supporting counterterrorism or asymmetric warfare operations or experience in multiple military-related intelligence target types (e.g. WMD, D, GOB, AOB, etc.) Experience with image processing software, MAAS and Apix Viewer and its use with Motion Imagery.

Practical experience in solving intelligence problems using PS methodologies, a working knowledge of airborne, national, theater, and commercial platforms; processes, policies, and production cycles.
