Description:

The Space and Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit of SAIC currently has an opening for a GIS Software Developer.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides software development engineering support to projects. Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

Required Skills:
• 5+ yrs of overall Software Development experience, specifically in C++, C##, or JAVA
• Collaborative Development experience
• Software design and development experience on new and existing GIS applications utilizing commercial products, OGC services, and web visualization

ESRi experienced GIS background to include client side and (SDE/Oracle) server side integration experience to include setting up Image Server, KML, geodatabases, and workflow services

Manages large geospatial data repositories using ArcSDE and ArcGIS Image Server, Assist in administering Oracle 10g/11g, and Oracle RAC database systems

Administer geoprocessing and geospatial data services using ArcGIS server to support GIS/GEOINT production

• Assist with formal analysis of user requirements with regard to new and existing systems, and to provide appropriate design documentation.
• Ensure that developed software meets robustness, performance and user’s functional requirements.
• Assist staff in the preparation of complex searches and reports using SQL and spatial techniques as appropriate.
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of standards for analysis, design, programming, testing and documentation, and
• ensure adherence to these standards.
• Ensure that developed software has undergone unit and system testing prior to formal testing

Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in related technical discipline, or equivalent, and 5+ yrs of experience
