The Space & Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit currently has an opening for a System Administrator in Washington, D.C.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primarily responsible for administration of Windows Server systems to include monitoring and application of JAVA patches. Includes conversion of existing Python and Perl scripts to Java compatible scripts or programs and resolving user-initiated application hosting problems and issues. Position located in Washington, D.C.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering. Eight years of experience with Microsoft Server administration. 12 years of experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
An active TS/SCI clearance is required to begin work for this position. Information Assurance certification (Security+, SSCP, or better) is required within 6 months of starting work. Requires 8 years of experience as system administrator for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Windows Server 2008 preferred). Ability to program in Java, ability to read and understand Python scripting language, ability to read and understand Perl scripting language, familiarity with programming using Oracle database interfaces (API’s).
DESIRED SKILLS:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to work closely in a team environment with contractor and customer colleagues, and possess an amiable and professional demeanor with users seeking technical assistance (via telephone, email, Remedy tickets, etc.).
