Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: The qualified individual will provide precise point positioning (targeting) against controlled target locations utilizing a variety of software platforms (PTW, RainDrop, RainStorm, SocetGXP/CGS, etc.). Additional functions could include developing photogrammetric control points, performing image database tasks, and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation. The primary products produced will be data spreadsheets/plots containing point locations in three dimensions with associated error estimates.
EDUCATION: A Master’s Degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, or Information Technology is required or a minimum of 6 years of experience in a field related to the job description in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS: A minimum of 6 years experience in imagery analysis and targeting in the Intelligence or military communities at the national level to include the finishing of remotely sensed data, analysis of cartographic data bases, updating geospatial data from intelligence databases, and producing mission specific data sets (MSDS). The successful candidate will have a basic knowledge of photogrammetric principles and statistics, a background in targeting related imagery analysis, and a strong knowledge of precise positioning (targeting) tools, electronic light table functionalities, and the imagery collection process. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to fuse images in stereo and pseudo-stereo (see in stereo), knowledge and proficiency in both commercial and government software to include: RainDrop, RainStorm, PTW, or SocetGXP/CGS, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Good oral and written Communication skills are a must, as well as collaborating effectively with other imagery and geospatial analysts. The analyst may be required to achieve a certification from the customer in precise point positioning.
DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge and Proficiency in commercial and/or government Geospatial Information System (GIS) software is highly desired. A certification in target mensuration is a plus.
