Call for Technical Committee's Subcommittee Co-Chairs

After several years of outstanding service and volunteerism, Jessica Hersey, Lockheed Martin, and Joe McMahon, SRA, of the Interoperability Outreach Subcommittee and Gabe Chang, IBM, of the Emerging Technologies Subcommittee are stepping down from their SC Co-Chair roles.

USGIF is now seeking nominations for individuals from any USGIF membership level to replace Jessica, Joe and Gabe.

Please submit nominations along with a short statement of interest to Aimee McGranahan Aimee.McGranahan@usgif.org by COB 18 March 2011.

The Interoperability Outreach and the Emerging Technologies SC’s are part of the USGIF Technical Committee. A description of these SCs is below:

Interoperability Outreach Subcommittee
The Interoperability Outreach Subcommittee identifies technologies that are furthering the community. It is responsible for developing the Interop Demo and participants well known to attendees of GEOINT and the TECH DAYS. In addition, the subcommittee responds to other requests and identifies opportunities for USGIF to provide demonstrations of the power of geospatial intelligence.

Emerging Technologies Subcommittee
The Emerging Technologies Subcommittee develops and implements a method for the USGIF to identify and track new technologies that can potentially play a role in addressing needs for geospatial intelligence. The subcommittee serves as a collection point for assembling needs identified by the community at large and provides insight regarding gaps between geospatial intelligence needs and existing capabilities. The ETS showcases technologies that fill these gaps wherever it can.
