Spring Installment of GEOINT 101 Hugely Successful

Reston, VA — On March 29, USGIF in partnership with the Open IntellAcademy, presented another installment of the GEOINT 101 course. The course attracted 25 attendees, the largest class yet, and had attendees coming from as far away as Barcelona. Attendees came from various organizations such as BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, La Caixa, Cisco, Adobe, NJVC, NGA, Collin College, Harris Corp. Goodrich, ManTech, Northrop Grumman and USACE AGC. Topics covered included the foundations of geospatial intelligence, the rise of GEOINT, sensors and platforms, imagery and features, how GEOINT affects our daily lives and the future of the tradecraft.

“This course provides an information packed introduction to the field of geospatial intelligence, the technology underlying its development and practical historical examples highlighting how it is used.”, said Don Ostrander, an attendee of the course new to the field. “I really enjoyed taking the course and highly recommend it.”
