Thinkers Dinner
January 30

USGIF kicked off its Thinkers Dinner Series on Monday, Jan. 30 with Kshemendra Paul, Program Manager for the Information Sharing Environment (PM-ISE). Invitation to participate in this event and the Chairman’s Dinners are exclusive benefits of Strategic Partner Level Membership.

USGIF and Mr. Paul arranged this gathering to share with USGIF Strategic Partner members the vision for the ISE and obtain their input in order to make this vision a reality. Following the dinner, the conversation will be summarized, and a short white paper will be produced covering theses topics:

  • Use of geospatial standards as one of the foundations to enhance information sharing
  • Identification of geospatial methods to increase interoperability among federal, state, and local operators
  • Exploration of the role of privacy in an increasingly connected — and geo-tagged — world
  • Tackling challenges that require large-scale data aggregation, such as terrorist watch listing or cargo screening
  • Exploration of ideas for visualization that could enhance and safeguard information sharing
