OAK HILL, Va. – The United States Geospatial Intelligence
Foundation (USGIF) announced today panel sessions, events and keynote speakers for its GEOINT 2004 Symposium to be held October 12-14 in New Orleans. GEOINT 2004 is the premier platform for individuals, organizations, companies, academics, and government agencies involved in geospatial intelligence to exchange ideas, uncover new technologies, and
network.
Featured keynote speakers include Lt. Gen. James R. Clapper, Jr., USAF (Ret.), Director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee’s Subcommittee on Technical and Tactical Intelligence, and Sen. J. Robert Kerrey, President, New School University.
Symposium panels will include “Geospatial Intelligence – Horizontal Integration from Tooth to Tail;” “The User’s Perspective on Integration;” “The GEOINT Community and
Its Partners” and “Innovation Challenges for Successful Integration and Transformation.”
“The foundation is committed to providing its members and other GEOINT Symposium 2004 participants with a high-value event,” said K. Stuart Shea, chairman of the board of directors, USGIF. “Our goal is to provide a rich mix of educational sessions and compelling speakers along with ample opportunities for networking and relationship building.”
Unique to the symposium will be the GEOINT Interoperability Demonstration, which will showcase the geospatial intelligence community’s ability to transform current operations through use of multiple interoperating applications. Displayed in many of the exhibitor booths, the demonstration will show how these capabilities can be coupled with other commercial applications and tools to transform the ways in which geospatial intelligence is used.
Additionally, the symposium will offer a number of special events, including a special opening night reception at the Audubon Aquarium, a golf tournament at TPC of Louisiana, a unique treasure hunt using GPS technology, Hall of Fame dinner and awards ceremony, and more.
