Geospatial Intelligence Foundation Welcomes New Members

May 24, 2006

Herndon, Va. — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) today announced eight new companies joined the Foundation, bringing to 88 the number of sustaining members and continuing the steady growth of the Foundation.

The new sustaining members are American Systems Corp., Spatial Data Analytics Corporation (SPADAC), eSpatial, Merrick & Co., PCI Geomatics, Red Hat Inc., Skyline Software Systems and Stanley Associates Inc.

“We are honored by the addition of these new members to our Foundation,” said K. Stuart Shea, USGIF president and chairman of the board of directors. “These companies provide a tremendous service to the community and add a significant value to our organization.”

The growing number of sustaining and individual members continues to reinforce the Foundation’s vital role as the premier forum for individuals, companies and organizations involved with geospatial intelligence to come together for the benefit of the tradecraft. The addition of these new sustaining members continues USGIF’s trend of rapid growth that began when it launched in January 2004.

“We, as a Foundation,” Shea continued, “will ensure our new member’s achievements in the geospatial intelligence community have a greater impact on our country’s national and homeland security objectives as the Foundation fosters a stronger community of interest between government, industry, academic and professional organizations.”

USGIF is a Virginia-based, nonstock, 501©(3) not-for-profit corporation. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and developing a stronger community of interest between government, industry, academic and professional organizations and individuals who share a mission focus around the development and application of geospatial intelligence data and geo-processing resources to address national security objectives.
