Government and Industry Showcase Latest Technology

May 16, 2008

Herndon, Va. — Government and industry representatives showcased the latest technologies May 13-15 at the fourth annual TECH DAYS. Produced by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) in cooperation with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), TECH DAYS stressed the interoperability of government and industry missions.

The event consisted of two NGA Technology Days and an USGIF Technology Day. More than 1,000 industry and government representatives viewed almost 100 exhibits during the three-day period.

The NGA Technology Days, held at NGA headquarters in Bethesda on May 13 and 14, was a classified event held by the NGA workforce for intelligence community and Department of Defense partners and customers as well as selected industry leaders. NGA Technology Days provided workforce and mission partners with a first-hand look at how NGA is improving collaboration with mission partners and warfighters. By strengthening the quality of analysis and providing premier GEOINT products and services, NGA ensures the success of national and global operations.

The USGIF Technology Day was an unclassified event featuring commercial vendors and government partners, which provided an exclusive opportunity to examine next-generation technology offerings. A Tradecraft Roundtable during lunch and the day-long Emerging Technologies Showcase highlighted, respectively, critical issues affecting the community and cutting-edge technologies redefining the way our community addresses national security challenges. USGIF Technology Day was held at the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner on May 15.
