USGIF Confirms First Keynote Speakers for GEOINT 2009 Symposium
April 29, 2009
Herndon, Va. — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) today announced the first three keynote speakers for its sixth annual GEOINT Symposium.
Confirming their participation in GEOINT 2009 are U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Robert Murrett, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. David A. Deptula, deputy chief of staff for U.S. Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and the Honorable James R. Clapper Jr., undersecretary of defense for intelligence.
The GEOINT Symposium, the nation’s preeminent intelligence event of the year, takes place Oct. 18-21, 2009, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The theme of GEOINT 2009 is “Build the Community. Accelerate Innovation. Advance the Tradecraft.” These three short statements are at the core of USGIF’s mission and its commitment to the GEOINT Community.
“Each year USGIF attempts to pull together a dynamic agenda to include an array of insightful and poignant keynote speakers,” said USGIF President Keith J. Masback. “Last year’s GEOINT was a tremendous success in this and all regards, and with the early acceptance of General Deptula, Admiral Murrett and Undersecretary Clapper we are on pace to again deliver a deeply valuable and enriching experience for the GEOINT Community.”
The annual GEOINT Symposium provides unparalleled and unprecedented opportunities to learn from keynote speakers, participate in panel discussions and network at the numerous social events, such as the exhibit hall receptions, opening night welcome party, Allder Golf Classic, GEOWalk Corporate Hospitality Night and—replacing the traditional sit-down dinner—the Closing Celebration with the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation. It is this balance that sets GEOINT apart from other exhibitions and conferences. GEOINT 2009 details will be available on a redesigned www.GEOINT2009.com in mid-June.
USGIF is a 501©(3) non-profit educational foundation dedicated to promoting the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and developing a stronger GEOINT Community with government, industry, academia, professional organizations and individuals whose mission is the development and application of geospatial intelligence to address our national security.
