USGIF Launches Young Professionals Group
USGIF Launches Young Professionals Group
January 29, 2009
Herndon, Va. – The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announced today the official launch of its Young Professionals Group, aimed at bringing together junior GEOINT professionals. The first USGIF Young Professionals event is scheduled for Feb. 10 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Rock Bottom Brewery, 4238 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1256,
Arlington, Va.
The purpose of the group is to not only unite young GEOINT professionals, but also provide them with the tools to fulfill their needs and wants to advance in their careers. USGIF will offer events and programs based on the demands of the group that parallel the Foundation’s mission of promoting the tradecraft. Along with this, the group will continue to evolve by creating a Young Professionals sub-committee, similar to the planning committee. This sub-committee will
utilize the unique dynamics of the membership’s young professionals by giving them an influence in events like GEOINT and TECH DAYS.
As the community continues to grow, the Foundation felt it important to increase the involvement of our future leaders in the direction of the tradecraft. The group was developed after the interest and success of the young professional’s breakout track held at the GEOINT 2008 Symposium.
