Tradecraft and Professional Development Committee
The Tradecraft and Professional Development Committee (TC&PDC) is charted to increase USGIF’s support to an increasingly diverse GEOINT analysis and production community. The TC&PDC advises the USGIF regarding the GEOINT tradecraft and profession, seeking to foster strong professional ethics and to advance the effectiveness of GEOINT practitioners across government, industry, and academia.
TC&PDC advises the USGIF on the current and future technical developments related to tradecraft as well as best practices, standards, and evolution in GEOINT professionalization. While the primary focus is GEOINT, TC&PDC recognizes the importance of diversity and innovation in implementing GEOINT-related practices throughout the government, public, private, and educational sectors.
TC&PDC seeks to develop and enhance professional relationships across the spectrum of geospatial-related activities through outreach events, education, and certification standards development. Working with the USGIF Certification Government Board, the Academic Planning Committee, and serving as a liaison among the USGIF Working Groups, TC&PDC facilitates USGIF outreach and engagement with colleges, universities, research labs, industry and government partners to foster cooperation and collaboration on education, training, and professional development activities.
The committee meets the third Friday of every month.
