DUE TODAY: GEOINT 2018 Symposium Call for Training

September 29, 2017

USGIF is offering the opportunity to conduct training and education sessions during the GEOINT 2018 Symposium, April 22-25 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.

USGIF organizational members, accredited programs, and working groups may apply to present a two-hour class related to global GEOINT topics with a focus on human security and national or homeland security.

The purpose of these training sessions are for geospatial intelligence subject matter experts to provide updates on new topics, applications, technology, policy, and tradecraft. All training sessions are learning opportunities for attendees. Organizational promotion by presenters is not permitted.

To Apply

To be considered to present a training class at GEOINT 2018, submit the following items to training@usgif.org no later than Friday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. PDT.

1. A 1-page/400-word description of why this class will be of value to GEOINT 2018 attendees. Sessions that focus on and clearly articulate how the proposed training fits into the GEOINT Essential Body of Knowledge will be given preference.
2. A 1-page course outline with learning objectives
3. Instructor/presenter biography

If the instructor is not creating the course, please also provide course creator experience/biography and contact information.

The required 400-word/1-page description should concisely state what is the value of the proposed training and why an attendee would stay for the two-hour duration. The instructor(s) should be able to answer the following question: “Why is my course compelling?”

Selection Process

USGIF will review materials of complete application packages from USGIF member organizations, working groups, and accredited schools. USGIF will notify companies on or before Oct. 31 whether they have been accepted to present at GEOINT 2018.

All training sessions are learning opportunities for attendees. Organizational promotion and marketing pitches are not permitted.

If Selected

If selected to present at GEOINT 2018, a final draft of training slides must be submitted to USGIF by Nov. 30. Instructions on scheduling a full review of the training will accompany selection notification.

Several accepted training providers will be selected at random to present their final course materials to USGIF in early 2018. If an organization is unable to schedule a training evaluation session, an alternative training may be selected as a replacement.

USGIF reserves the right to cancel any training at any time.
