USGIF Welcomes Three New Board Members to Help Shape the Future of GEOINT

USGIF is proud to welcome three outstanding leaders to our Board of Directors: Mark Andress, Jeff Bongianino, and Kevin O’Connell. These individuals bring deep expertise across the GEOINT, defense, and space communities, and we are honored to have them join us in advancing our mission to promote the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and build a stronger, more connected GEOINT community.
Mark Andress
Mark Andress is a proven national security executive with decades of experience in both the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. He currently serves in dual roles at Oracle. As General Manager, he leads cloud, software, and hardware sales across the Department of Defense. He also supports executive engagement and customer relations across all other federal business units, connecting with key leaders from both government and industry throughout the GEOINT Community.
Before joining Oracle, Mark served as Chief Information Officer and Director of the CIO-T Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), where he led the agency’s global IT and cybersecurity operations. His career also includes senior leadership positions in the Navy and Pentagon, including Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare. Mark’s broad operational background and insight into mission-driven technology make him a strong asset to our Board.
Jeff Bongianino
Jeff Bongianino is the General Manager of the Advanced GEOINT Systems (AGS) Commercial Product Center at BAE Systems, where he leads the development of advanced geospatial intelligence and cybersecurity products. Over his 30+ year career, Jeff has built deep operational and technical experience across geospatial data production, mission support, and IT services.
At BAE Systems, he has served in a wide range of leadership roles in business development, operations, and engineering. Jeff also previously led IT services at NJVC in support of the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence. His long-standing commitment to supporting the GEOINT enterprise makes him a valuable addition to our leadership team.
Kevin O’Connell
Kevin O’Connell is a nationally recognized expert on space commerce, international intelligence, and national security. He most recently served as Director of the Office of Space Commerce at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he led efforts to expand the U.S. commercial space sector and advance space sustainability.
Kevin’s career has included key roles at the Department of Defense, Department of State, National Security Council, and RAND Corporation. He is the founder of Innovative Analytics and Training, a firm focused on high-tech market analysis, and has been a frequent advisor on space policy and remote sensing. His insights into commercial innovation, regulation, and international partnerships will help guide USGIF’s strategic outlook.
These new Board members join us at a pivotal time for our community. Their leadership will help us continue to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and grow the GEOINT workforce of the future. We are thrilled to welcome Mark, Jeff, and Kevin to the USGIF Board of Directors.
