David Gurzick, Ph,D.

Founding Chair of George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business
Dr. David Gurzick is the Founding Chair of the George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business and Professor of Management Science at Hood College. He has a B.S. in computer science from Frostburg State University, an M.S. in computer science from Hood College, a Ph.D. in information systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and is a graduate of Harvard’s business analytics program. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
At Hood, Dr. Gurzick teaches AI-related badges and coursework, consults on AI projects, and was named a top five AI developer by CIOR magazine. He also leads Data Driven Frederick, a community analytics lab at Hood College, and serves on the board of the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc (FITCI), a key regional tech and biotech accelerator. As CTO of Development InfoStructure (Devis), Dr. Gurzick leads and serves as key technical resource to federal projects for clients including the CDC, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, U.S. House of Representatives, and the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
