Eric Anderson

SynMax Inc
CEO and Co-Founder

Eric Anderson is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of SynMax, a data-intelligence company building the analytical backbone for maritime domain awareness (MDA) and global energy intelligence. He leads the company’s mission to fuse satellite, signals, and open-source data into decision-grade intelligence for commercial, defense, and government users.

Eric is the architect and inventor behind SynMax’s flagship platforms: Theia, the company’s maritime intelligence product, Hyperion, an energy-infrastructure intelligence product; and Atlas SynMax’s agentic data science platform. Theia applies advanced analytics to detect, track, and attribute vessel activity at a global scale, including dark-ship detection, AIS-spoofing identification, ship-to-ship transfer monitoring, and pattern-of-life analysis, directly supporting the maritime domain awareness mission set. He designed and built many of the core models that power these platforms today, establishing the computational frameworks that turn multi-source data into actionable intelligence.

Before founding SynMax, Eric spent a decade as a quantitative analyst at Skylar Capital, a leading commodity hedge fund, where he developed proprietary predictive models for trading and market analysis in complex, fast-moving global markets. That foundation in large-scale, real-time quantitative analysis became the technical DNA of SynMax’s intelligence products.

Eric is a recognized voice on the application of artificial intelligence to intelligence problems, particularly agentic AI systems that automate complex data-science and analytical workflows. He focuses on the practical deployment of these systems to remove analytical bottlenecks and unlock greater value for analysts and operators, and has spoken on numerous podcasts addressing AI’s role across technology, finance, and defense.

Eric holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. As both founding architect and chief executive, he continues to drive SynMax’s technical vision and its growing role in the maritime domain awareness community.
