Purpose:

The Tradecraft Working Group is a group of representatives, subject matter experts, mentors and professionals who wish to build the community, advance the tradecraft and accelerate innovation of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT). Our mission is to understand and develop GEOINT tradecraft as it evolves in academia, industry, and governments; as well as enable the conversation to support the development of professionals within our growing community. Through this mission we aim to serve USGIF strategies for developing how and where to qualify and equip a workforce of professionals with GEOINT training, knowledge, and skills.

Objectives:
  • Contribute to the evolution of the basic and advanced qualifications for GEOINT/GEOINT related professionals as related to the USGIF Certification program.
  • Assess GEOINT and GEOINT-related professional education and training programs which prepare individuals for entry into or advancement in the profession.
  • Serve as a facilitating body to message the GEOINT/GEOINT-related opinion leaders regarding tradecraft and professional development topics of common concern.
  • Maintain awareness of the key GEOINT tradecraft advancement and professional development issues facing the GEOINT/GEOINT-related Communities and provide a forum to discuss topics of interest/concern.
  • Support the USGIF accreditation effort to increase the readiness of individuals entering the GEOINT and GEOINT-related professions.
