In June 2020, Mr. Meriwether Anderson Sale Jr. was appointed to the Senior Executive Service and assumed the position of Director of Operations (DOO) for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) on Fort Belvoir, VA. As the DOO, Mr. Sale is responsible for directing and steering the INSCOM Intelligence Enterprise in the areas of Signals Intelligence, Human Intelligence, Geospatial Intelligence, Open Source Intelligence, Counterintelligence, and security operations supporting the priorities of the Commanding General of INSCOM, the U.S. Army, G-2 and other senior U.S. Army and Department of Defense leaders.
Mr. Sale has over 27 years of experience in the Department of Defense. He commanded and led multiple operational elements from the tactical to the strategic level, and has extensive Joint, Intelligence Community, and Interagency operational experience. Mr. Sale has served in Korea, Italy, Germany, the Philippines, and Thailand including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
