Armando Drain currently is a Defense Solution Engineer at Esri. Esri is the world leader in GIS, who created ArcGIS, a powerful mapping and spatial analytics platform that can reveal deeper insight into data, helping organizations create positive change in industry and society. In his role, he assists Department of Defense and Intelligence Community members utilize the ArcGIS platform to gain greater insights on the vast multi sourced information they are receiving by utilizing the one commonality between their data, location. A key focus of his is pushing for the increase in data sharing across the Federal government using Web GIS, to not only remove current data stovepipes but to increase collaboration between agencies and analysts alike.

Mr. Drain in an active member of USGIF community, he has been on the planning committee for the Young Professionals Working Group (YPG) for the past two years and was a 2018 GEOINT Golden Ticket recipient. He has earned a Geography degree focusing on Geospatial and Environmental Analysis from Virginia Tech and currently is a Certified GEOINT Professional- Essentials (CGP-E).
