Dan Opstal

Daniel W. Opstal is a Geographer and the Executive Secretary of the Civil Applications Committee as a federal civil servant at the United States Geological Survey.  He is also a reserve intelligence officer in the US Air Force.  His previous assignments took him all over the world, including travel to Russia, South Americaand Europe.  Dan’s presented on a diverse set of topics to the National Security Council, National Space Council and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.  He holds degrees in international affairs, business, strategic studies and strategic intelligence with a focus on commercial satellite imagery innovations.  He is a distinguished graduate of the US Army War College and a certified geospatial intelligence professional.
