
Eric Hughes

Chief Engineer, Integrated Processing and Mission Solutions Division
Dr. Eric Hughes is the Distinguished Chief Engineer of the Integrated Processing and Mission Solutions Division (N430) at The MITRE Corporation. In this role, he works with MITRE’s intelligence and law enforcement sponsors to find effective solutions for their data analytics needs. Eric joined MITRE in 1996, and has worked with a broad spectrum of MITRE sponsors and sites. Eric received his B.S. in Computer Engineering and M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Eric lives with his wife and 2 children (well, one in college) in Waltham, MA.
Eric has worked on database and distributed object systems, data quality, information sharing, and data mining. He played a leading role in developing MITRE’s big data analytics capabilities and has advised the MITRE Innovation Program on analytics research. Eric has worked with the MITRE Institute and a number of universities to design and execute curricula in big data analytics. He is working with sponsors on AI adoption, testing, and governance.
