Patty Mims

Director, Global National Government
Ms. Mims is currently the Director of Global National Government at Esri. In this role she oversees all Esri business development across the U.S. Federal Government, including Intelligence, Defense, Public Safety, & Civilian; Non-Profit Programs globally; as well as International support to National Government organizations around the world.
Ms. Mims was the Director of Intelligence Programs at Esri from 2012-2015. In this role she managed all activities across the Intelligence Community (IC), as well as State Department. Ms. Mims’ prior role as the team lead for Esri’s Defense Installation Team provided experience across all activities world-wide with Military Installations as well as development of enterprise wide geospatial capabilities with the US Army Corps of Engineers. She joined ESRI in 2002 as account lead for the Defense and Intelligence Team assisting with the management of the entire team. Her focus initially was on Department of Homeland Security as well as the Foreign Military Sales. She worked with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) and national mapping agencies throughout Eastern Europe.
Prior to joining Esri, Ms. Mims worked for an international software company where she supported customers around the world (North America, Middle East, Europe, and South America) in her role as the Manager of Technical Support and Training. Her work in the US focused on the development of the first digital Hydrographic workflow for Digital Nautical Charts and Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) for the NGA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Ms. Mims also supported the Army Topographic Engineering Center for research in 3D capabilities in GIS.
Her GIS career began in 1994 in the role of an analyst where she created Congressional Reports for Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) for US Military Healthcare Facilities.
Ms. Mims is active member and supporter of the US Geospatial-Intelligence Foundation.
Ms. Mims graduated with a bachelor’s science degree in Geography and Certification in Secondary Education, Mary Washington University, and master’s science degree in Geography/GIS from Virginia Tech.
