Samuel Unger is a career Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) professional and United States Air Force (USAF) veteran. He currently serves as a Senior Director at BlackSky, responsible for developing strategies and solutions to enable an effective and interoperable commercial layer throughout the IC, DoD, and Federal Civilian agencies and organizations.

Prior to joining BlackSky, Samuel served Sr. Director for IC/DoD Accounts at Planet Federal. Prior to that, he served as a Director/Business Manager for Raytheon Intelligence, Information Services (IIS), leading multiple sub-mission areas supporting IC Customers. Samuel spent over 12 years with TASC (and its affiliated parent organizations) as a systems engineer, solutions architect and strategist supporting/enabling key National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) initiatives to include the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) and the EnhancedView Commercial Imagery Major System Acquisition (MSA) receiving multiple awards from NGA and ODNI respectively. TASC was Samuel’s first, professional career endeavor following eight years of military service as an imagery intelligence analyst and mission supervisor in the USAF.

Samuel has been an active USGIF member/participant since 2012; has a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Leo University.
