William “Hudson” Sutherland

Mr. Sutherland has 20+ years of experience in the defense and Inteligence community. He is an Army veteran and business consultant with extensive leadership experience, currently working in CGI Federal Defense programs. He is a tech-savvy leader and life-long learner, who eagerly embraces challenges. He is a blockchain/distributed ledger technology subject matter expert with extensive experience managing agile software development teams.
Before his tenure with CGI, Mr. Sutherland led teams in multiple disciplined functions. He began his career as an Armor officer in the Army and ended his Army tenure supporting Special Forces in Afghanistan with their operational funding needs. Mr. Sutherland has worked on various staffs mainly with a focus to improve process efficiencies. One such assignment was on the Secretary of Defens’s ISR task Force where he reduced rapid technology acquisition cycle time by ~70% (5+ years down to 12-18 months) by leveraging agile coupled with execution monitoring, controls, and timely issue resolution.
Mr. Sutherland is focused on Data Analytics, Blockchain and integrating various technologies to aid in acceleration of disruptive capabilities to improve mission intelligence, operations and efficiencies. He earned a BS degree in Accounting from The Citadel and an MBA from the College of William & Mary where he served as an Advisory Board member to the W&M Blockchain Lab which is overseen by the Global Research Institute.
