Future-Ready GEOINT: Evolving Workforce Skills

Join USGIF’s Front Range Area Community (FRAC) for an evening of discussion and networking at Vantor’s Westminster headquarters. As space-based Earth Observation architectures grow more complex and AI becomes deeply integrated into mission workflows, the GEOINT workforce is evolving at speed. Success now requires skills that span across domains, from engineering and data science to cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, and entrepreneurship.

Opening remarks: Tom Coakley, Academic Dean at Arapahoe Community College and Executive Director of the Colorado Space Institute

Panel discussion

  • Caity Milton, VP, Go-to-Market, Bedrock Research (Moderator)
  • John Heskett, Chief Technology Officer, Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT)
  • Kris Larsen, Senior Professional Research Assistant, CU / LASP
  • Michael Martinez, CSU Engineering and Entrepreneurship Advisor and former VP Mission Engineering, Maxar
  • Steve Mattingley, Vice President, Space and Geospatial Operations, Vantor
  • Brandon Miller, Sr. Manager, Aerospace, AWS Ground Station

This meetup brings together leaders from industry, academia, and government to explore how we can prepare the current and next generation of GEOINT professionals, and what organizations must do today to stay ahead in an AI-enabled, space-focused era.
