Patrick Kenney has been creating and instructing analytic skills courses for nine years, with the NYPD, the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the Danish Defense College (FAK), the UK National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI) and the commercial sector. His main focus is spatial-temporal analysis of big, diverse data sets, in particular the Activity-Based Intelligence (ABI) methodology. Patrick enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2000 serving as a Combat Engineer and Civil Affairs Specialist. Following his military service Patrick earned his B.A. in International Affairs (and Certificate in GIS) from the University of Mary Washington, then his M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University. Patrick has worked as a collection manager and analyst gaining hands-on experience in the data, tools, and mindset important to modern intelligence operations. Patrick embodies the bridging of analysis and data science, teaching himself enough coding and data science skills to be dangerous, but effective, when confronting modern massive, diverse data sets. Patrick lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Amanda, and their two boys.
