Chris Oxendine

Dr. Christopher E. Oxendine currently serves as the Director for Defense and Intelligence Solutions at Esri. Chris served 26 years in the United States Army before retiring in 2022 in the rank of Colonel. In his last assignment, Chris served as the Director of the Center for Environmental and Geographic Studies and an Associate Professor of Geospatial Information Sciences in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering at the United States Military Academy.

He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Systems and GeoInformation Science from George Mason University, a Master of Science in Cartography/GIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Arts in Business and Organization Security Management from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mapping, Charting, & Geodesy from West Point. His GIS interests include acquiring and analyzing geospatial data, including UAS and terrestrial laser scanning, 3D visualization, and GIS analysis in structured and unstructured data.

Chris is a member of the Lumbee Tribe. He’s been married to the former Jessica Cunza-Marin for 25 years, and they have four kids.
