Jason Kucsan

Mr. Jason Kucsan serves as the Senior GEOINT Officer (SGO), Office of Asia-Pacific, Analysis Component at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. In this capacity he is responsible for executing NGA’s geospatial intelligence analysis and production mission in support of National Security requirements – including support to the Intelligence Community and the military. Mr. Kucsan specializes in data management and data governance activities across the Agency and Intelligence Community. He was a key architect in the design and stand up of NGA’s Data Governance Framework and currently chairs the Analysis Data Governance Council (ADGC).

Previously, Mr. Kucsan led the Agency’s Object Based Production (OBP), Enterprise GIS, and the Structured Observation Management (SOM) initiatives. As the lead, he was responsible for modernizing the analytic workforce by establishing and integrating new tools, technologies, tradecraft, workflows, and data standards.

Mr. Kucsan joined the agency and spent nearly a decade at the Department of Homeland Security NGA Support Team (DHS NST), where he led several initiatives to proliferate
GEOINT support, tools, and capabilities for the homeland security mission, ranging from natural disasters, counter-terrorism, and border security issues.

Mr. Kucsan has 10 years of military service, four years active duty USMC (Topographic Intelligence Analyst) and 6 years U.S. Army reserves (All-Source Intelligence Analyst). Mr. Kucsan holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and GIS from Bloomsburg University. Personal awards include Superior Civilian Service Medal.
