Principal Strategic Account Executive, National Security


Jenny McGee serves as a Principal Strategic Account Executive for National Security at Amazon Web Services.  She brings operational experience to helping customers utilize innovative approaches to leveraging the cloud to solve IT and mission challenges, and most recently was part of the AWS team supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. 

Prior to joining Amazon, Jenny served at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as its first-ever Associate Administrator for Relief, Response, and Resilience – a Senate-confirmed position that oversaw and integrated humanitarian and disaster assistance; conflict prevention and stabilization work; and long-term food security and water, sanitation, and hygiene efforts.  She also continues to serve as a Senior Advisor and Non-Resident Expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). 

During her Air Force career, Jenny was a Joint Qualified Officer and spent more than 31 years on active duty as an Intelligence officer, leading operational intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) units both deployed and in garrison, and serving in key staff assignments to include senior Pentagon and theater-level roles and at the National Security Council. 

She culminated her Air Force career at NGA, serving first as Deputy Director for NGA’s largest office, the Office of Counterterrorism (AOT) — and then as the GEOINT Mission Manager for Counterterrorism. Prior to NGA, she was the Director of Intelligence (A2) for U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa; Intelligence Career Field Manager at HQ U.S. Air Force; and Senior Military Assistant at USDI. She has commanded Distributed Ground Station-2 and the U-2 wet film processing and exploitation unit at Beale AFB, CA; and Distributed Ground Station-4 and the Eagle Vision-1 deployable commercial imagery ground station at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.  As Chief of the ISR Division in CENTCOM’s Combined Air and Space Operations Center (CAOC) at Al-Udeid Air Base, she led the JFACC’s ISR and intelligence activities during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and for other theater operations. At the National Security Council, she served as a Senior Duty Officer in the White House Situation Room; Special Assistant to the National Security Advisor; and Director for Proliferation, Counterproliferation, and Homeland Defense.  Earlier at the Pentagon she served as a Requirements officer and Program Element Monitor at HQ U.S. Air Force.  She began her career as an Air Analyst and current intelligence briefer at Osan Air Base in Korea, and then at HQ Pacific Air Forces at Hickam Air Force Base, as a Soviet Far East Forces analyst and liaison officer to the Joint Intelligence Center Pacific. 

Ms. McGee earned her undergraduate degrees from Purdue University; a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University; Master’s degrees in national security and strategy from National War College and the Naval Command and Staff College; and a Master of Business Administration and other executive education from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.   

She resides in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband, a retired U.S. Navy intelligence officer.
