Marisa Hess is employed by Strategic Alliance Consulting Inc as the Geospatial Data Manager for Army National Military Cemeteries. In this role, Ms. Hess manages GIS technical and analytical services to assure quality analysis and quality control of the GIS database and the enterprise Interment Scheduling System. Prior to this position, she was Deputy Project Manager at MDA Information Systems, managing a team of 41 individuals conducting remote sensing and mapping projects for the DoD.

Ms. Hess is an engaged member of the geospatial intelligence community. Her active participation includes the Tradecraft and Professional Development Committee, the Young Professionals Working Group, and the GEOINT Foreword Planning Subcommittee of the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. Ms. Hess was a 2017 USGIF Golden Ticket recipient and in 2019 coordinated the Golden Ticket and Young Professional Group events on-site. Ms. Hess’ research dates to 2017 when she presented her research entitled “Optimization of Multi-date Strategies for Calculating Bathymetry Using Multispectral Imagery” at the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Symposiums. Ms. Hess’ education includes an Earth Science degree from James Madison University as well as various professional certifications.
