USGIF Working Groups at GEOINT Symposium 2026

Eight USGIF working groups will hold breakout sessions at GEOINT Symposium 2026. Sessions are open to all registered attendees.

What Working Groups Do

USGIF working groups advance GEOINT tradecraft through collaboration, research, and the development of best practices. We bring together practitioners from government, academia, and industry to work through the problems that matter most to the community — producing white papers, establishing guidance, and informing how the field evolves.

GEOINT Symposium is a direct entry point into these communities, whether you’re an established member or considering involvement for the first time.

Monday, May 4

• NRO Industry Advisory Working Group | 1:00–1:45 p.m.
  Hear from the Digital Engineering and Industry Community of Practice action team on digital engineering transformation and MMC2 industry expansion.
• Modeling, Simulation and Gaming Working Group | 2:00–2:45 p.m.
  Join current working group members to learn more.
• Tradecraft Working Group | 3:00–3:45 p.m.
  Learn about the working group’s draft white paper: “Smarter GEOINT: Balancing Human Judgment and Automated Power.”
• Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Working Group | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
  Explore how Generative AI can support analytic workflows, based on the working group’s white paper.

Tuesday, May 5

• Education Working Group | 2:00–2:45 p.m.
  Get updates from subcommittees, receive guidance on student publishing, and join the discussion on priorities and next steps.
• New! Maritime Domain Awareness Working Group (Inaugural Session) | 3:00–3:45 p.m.
  Join the kickoff of the new working group and learn about its draft charter, mission, and how to participate.
• Front Range Area Community of Interest | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
  Connect with the Colorado Front Range GEOINT community at this networking social, bringing together government, industry, and academic professionals.
• St. Louis Area Community of Interest | 4:00–5:00 p.m.
  Join this community meetup in collaboration with GeoSTL, connecting attendees during the St. Louis “Mappy Hour” at the expo hall booth.
